This position is located in the Division of Risk Management Supervision, Supervision and Policy, Large Bank Supervision Branch, Horizontal Risk Management Sections of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides support in implementing national programs related to large financial institution analysis. Additional selections may be made from this vacancy announcement to fill identical vacancies that occur subsequent to this announcement.

Qualifications

Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious/spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Additional qualifications information can be found here. CG-14: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade CG/GS-13 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is analyzing multi-billion dollar financial institutions that are involved in credit risk, capital markets, OR operational risk; developing reports and briefings on risks and trends; and analyzing asset/liability management techniques and portfolio risk management systems employed in financial institutions. CG-15: Applicants must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the grade CG/GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is analyzing multi-billion dollar financial institutions that are involved in credit risk, capital markets, and operational risk; developing reports and briefings on risks and trends for use by senior executives; and analyzing asset/liability management techniques and portfolio risk management systems employed in multi-billion dollar financial institutions. Applicants must be a Commissioned Examiner in the FDIC or another organization with comparable commissioning to that used by the FDIC's Division of Risk Management Supervision. Applicants must have met the qualification requirements (including selective placement factors – if any) for this position within 30 calendar days of the closing date of this announcement.
