You will serve as a SUPERVISORY FIRE PROTECTION INSPECTOR in the FIRE PROTECTION BRANCH of NAS OCEANA.
Duties
You will manage a fire prevention program to maintain compliance with national fire codes.
You will participate in pre-construction or pre-design meetings to resolve potential conflicts to fire protection or prevention requirements.
You will develop a continual fire prevention or fire protection training program for serviced activities.
You will prepare performance appraisals for junior firefighters or employees.
Requirements

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-9 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
1) Utilizing fire protection engineering principles to ensure all installed fire protection fixed systems are designed, constructed, maintained, and tested in compliance with applicable fire codes/standards (i.e. national fire protection association codes, uniform building code, national electric code, life safety code, Department of Defense/Navy directives and instructions and the code of Federal Regulations. 2) Directing fire prevention programs to include fire investigation, fire inspection and fire safety; 3) Instructing public educational programs in fire protection, and prevention topics. 4) Identifying developmental, and training needs of other firefighter employees.
