You will serve as an Electronics Technician in the Sea Range Systems Division of NAVAIRWARCENWPNDIV POINT MUGU.

Duties

You will perform required maintenance activities on a regular basis, deploy to work sites to support, document, and audit installation and de-rig procedures, and deploy to work sites as necessary to support operations. You will maintain, test, install, and verify RangeLynx equipment in support of all Sea Range and off range operations. You will configure and operate various airborne telemetry receivers, recorders, and associated test equipment for pre-flight testing and live flight test events. You will maintain quality control over collected data, devise new test methods and procedures, and analyze and produce equipment status reports, problem reports, hot wash reports, and operational data reports. You will be responsible for compiling the necessary instrumentation requirements from the Program Manager, System Manager, Operations Lead, Test Management and other sources for successful range operations support.

  • You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
  • This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
  • You will be required to successfully complete a pre-appointment physical examination.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector in order to perform the duties of an Electronics Technician. Specialized experiences must include duties related to the following: (1) Performing configuration and operation of Range instrumentation systems and equipment; (2) Troubleshooting complex electronic systems using schematics, drawings, technical documentation and diagnostic equipment; (3) Working with system engineers, and technicians to establish probable causes of failures; and (4) Analyzing specific maintenance requirements, troubleshooting, calibrating, and performing equipment maintenance and repair.
