This position serves as the Accounting Director and plans, directs, and coordinates the activities of the Accounting Department.
Duties
The Office of the Chief Administrative Officer (CAO) provides operations support services and business solutions to the community of 10,000 House Members, Officers, and staff. The CAO organization comprises more than 650 technical and administrative staff working in a variety of areas, including information technology, finance, budget management, human resources, payroll, child care, food and vending, procurement, logistics and administrative counsel.

Qualifications
Experience and/or Education Requirements: · Bachelor’s Degree required (Business Administration or Finance related area preferred). · Advanced degree preferred. · Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Government Financial Manager (CGFM) preferred. · Extensive Government and private sector experience in financial operations and financial statement preparation. · Previous experience supervising cross functional or inter-disciplinary employee work teams. · Progressively responsible professional experience as an accountant or financial manager. Knowledge, Skill, and Ability (KSA) and Competency Requirements: · Broad knowledge of Federal and generally accepted accounting standards and principles and automated financial systems/software. · Working knowledge of the U.S. Standard General Ledger, Joint Financial Management Improvement Program (JFMIP) Federal Financial Management System requirements, Statements of Federal Financial Accounting Standards, laws, regulations, and resolutions affecting the financial management activities of the House of Representatives. · General working knowledge of the Business Unit. · Ability to effectively manage financial operations within the Department, including appropriately demonstrating and applying knowledge of financial transactions and methods for recording, processing, and approving transactions. **Continued employment is contingent upon satisfactorily completing a criminal history records check (or other applicable security clearance) and a pre-employment drug-test (pre-identified position only).
