This vacancy is for a WG - 3806 - 08/10, Sheet Metal Mechanic (Aircraft) located in the Department of Homeland Security, United States Coast Guard, Aviation Logistics Center, Medium Range Surveillance Product Line (MRS), Elizabeth City, North Carolina.

Duties
Developing patterns and templates lay out, cutting, forming, joining, assembling, and installing various aircraft metal structures.
Evaluating structural damage to sheet metal systems, structures or items in order to plan and layout, repair and modification projects involving many different honeycomb materials, and alloys.
Demonstrating or explaining proper techniques, methods of operation, and safety practices.
Bending or forming items to a variety of angles or curves with varying pitch or circumference.
At the WG-08 level, will perform intermediate level aircraft sheet metal mechanic tasks by assisting in developing patterns for the installation of various aircraft metal structures. Duties may include; evaluating structural damage; examining aircraft hulls, and metal structures; and sing complicated measuring instruments and shop mathematics to figure irregular cures, angles, and pitch. As experience is gained, the employee will be expected to perform additional tasks with increasing proficiency and independence.

Knowledge of Equipment Assembly, Installation, Repair, etc.
Technical Practices (theoretical, precise, artistic)
Use of Measuring Instruments
Ability to Interpret Instructions, Specification, etc. (includes blueprint reading)
Ability to Use and Maintain Tools and Equipment
Knowledge of Materials
