You will serve as a PHYSICAL SCIENTIST (ENVIRONMENTAL) in the ENVIRONMENTAL AFFAIRS DEPARTMENT, FACILITIES DIRECTIORATE of MCAS CHERRY POINT.

Duties

You will serve as Environmental Scientist and Environmental Program Manager implementing complex compliance and technical requirements and acting as command subject matter expert in assigned media program areas. You will develop program objective memorandum and assures the accuracy and adequacy of program related entries. You will serve as subject matter expert for compliance with laws, regulations, permit conditions, and policies applicable to assigned media program areas. You will prepare and deliver briefings to a wide range of audiences including command members, regulatory agencies, and community groups; addresses community concerns at public meetings and public hearings You will assist with setting program goals, developing work plans/schedules, delegating tasks, setting deadlines, monitoring performance, and reporting team results.

Qualifications

In addition to the Basic Requirements for this position, your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: Responsible for implementation of requirements to ensure compliance with laws, regulations, permit conditions, and policies applicable to assigned media program areas, resolve conflicts regarding funding and environmental concerns. Responsible for compliance with laws, review and edit technical reports, and assist with developing work schedules, program goals, and monitoring performance. Education

Applicants must meet the following positive education qualifications requirements of the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualifications Standards Manual: Applicants must possess 2 years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree or master's or equivalent graduate degree
