This position is located at Gateway Arch National Park. The primary purpose of the position is to perform recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers. Incumbent utilizes knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts.

The primary purpose of the position is to perform recurring building and/or utility maintenance and operation duties and to assist journeymen and other higher graded maintenance workers. Incumbent utilizes knowledge and skills in several trades and crafts. Daily task assignments can vary from duties as Carpenter, Electrical helper, Painter, Mechanical trades helper, Plumber, Janitor, and/or Laborer. Positions assigned in a small work-center where working individually is paramount. Job requires strong work ethic, safe practices, and a great deal of visitor interaction.

SCREEN OUT: Ability to do the work of the position without more than normal supervision (Screen-out) Able to independently perform the full range of maintenance mechanic duties skilled in the following trades: carpentry, painting, electrical, plumbing, and operation, maintenance, and repair of public surface water systems. I have performed these duties on my own initiative with normal supervision. I am able to troubleshoot and take initiative to solve problems and accomplish work assignments in a safe manner. I have knowledge of a variety of technical trade terminology, tools, and equipment in the skills above. I possess a strong work ethic, dexterity and am able to perform strenuous work as required by the position. I possess the ability to use a computer, maintain records, and perform simple arithmetic calculations.
