About the Position: Serves as a member of the Administrative Team assisting the Resident Engineer. The incumbent has responsibility for performing many business management duties supporting the construction management operation. Duties are split between construction management assistance and administrative duties.
Duties
Perform all administrative activities in connection with the Resident Office.
Monitor the final documents required for contract close-out.
Inputs/retrieves data to create letters, memoranda, and reports of non-technical nature.
Utilize spreadsheet software, such as a financial management system to input and maintain data to produce reports.
Monitor accounting data of expenditures generated to detect variances within the budget.
Prepare a wide variety of documents, forms and correspondence relative to contract changes and claims.
Process construction contract modifications for projects that cover civil works and military projects.

For GS-06: Specialized Experience: One year of Specialized experience includes performing procedural and administrative work in an office environment; preparing correspondence; maintaining contract files/records; processing construction contract modifications and monitoring accounting data to stay within the budget. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).
For GS-07: Specialized Experience: One year of Specialized experience includes performing procedural and administrative work in an office environment; preparing correspondence; maintaining contract files/records; processing construction contract modifications; performing many business management duties supporting the construction management operation to include: knowledge of the organization, methods, funds, people, equipment, and other resources of management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06). Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. For the GS-06 and GS-07 grade levels, you must meet the qualification requirement using experience alone--no substitution of education for experience is permitted.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent.

Education
