You will serve as an Alarm Monitor/Dispatcher in the Provost Marsal Office/Marine Corps Police Department of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.

Duties

You will monitor and troubleshoot all Marine Corps Electronic Security Systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems installed and annunciating at the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department. You will receive and process incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies, airfield emergencies, and environmental and hazardous materials incidents. You will dispatch personnel and apparatus to the scene of emergencies, record pertinent data, events, and logs, and initiate pre-arrival instructions to callers for fire, medical, and police emergencies. You will monitor status and availability of police, fire, and medical field units to assure an appropriate response is made.

Requirements

  • This position is covered by the Domestic Violence Misdemeanor Amendment (30 Sep 96) of the Gun Control Act (Lautenberg Amendment) of 1968. You will be required to sign a DD-Form-2760, Qualification to possess firearms or ammunition.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
  • This is a Mission Essential position. You will be required to ensure organization or facility continuity of operations and/or completion of tasks that are considered essential to the mission designated by a local or command decision.
  • You will be required to obtain and maintain a current the following certifications withing the first year of employment: First Aid, CPF, EMD Protocols and Certification.
  • You must have reached your 18th birthday prior to appointment.

Qualifications

I have one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-06) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems; 2) Receiving and processing incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies or incidents, airfield emergencies and environmental and hazardous materials incidents; and 3) Dispatching personnel and apparatus to emergencies, record data, events and logs and initiate instructions to callers for fire, medical and police emergencies.
