You will serve as an ALARM MONITOR/DISPATCHER in the Provost Marshal Office/Marine Corps Police Department of MCAS BEAUFORT SC.
Duties
You will monitor closed circuit television (CCTV) screens, analyze images displayed with the range of CCTV camera while monitoring CCTV screens.
You will monitor and/or operate electronic security systems involving alarm panels/monitors, call-boxes, maintenance-related items, intrusion detection systems, video motion detection systems, ground based radars and various security alarms.
You will set and/or resets alarms; activate and ensure alarms are not malfunctioning and supply information to proper points of contact of alarm activation to initiate response process.
You will monitor and operate the Mass Notification (MNS) to ensure proper dissemination of emergency mass notification messages; supports and conducts monthly testing of the MNS to ensure proper operation of the system.
You will ensure all communication and alarm systems are in proper working order and initiating corrective action if found defective to ensure operations are not affected.
You will prepare and maintain alarm control log of all alarm conditions; prepare and maintain running logs of major events and maintain manpower status report and keeps accurate log for utilization.
You will ensure recall rosters on key personnel from necessary units are accurate; maintain a complete and accurate listing of all Fire/Smoke alarm boxes.
You will ensure proper record storage safeguards are in place and records are appropriately achieved/destroyed as required
You will receive and evaluate incoming calls for service, including 911 emergency calls; prioritize emergency and non-emergency calls for service and respond accordingly.
You will provide emergency medical dispatching (EMD) assistance to callers using emergency medical dispatch system.
You will operate Computer Aided Dispatching (CAD) system, radios and station alerting systems; refers non-emergency callers to appropriate civilian and governmental agencies.

- Work regularly includes assignment to rotating shift, including weekends and holidays. Overtime may be required.
- Must possess and maintain a valid state driver's license and be able to maintain a U.S. Government emergency vehicle operator's license.
- Requires the ability to meet legal requirement for carrying a firearm. Must pass all weapons qualifications tests prior to assigned duties and responsibilities and must pass all re-qualifications as required.
- Must be able to read, write and speak English. Must be 18 years of age.
- This position is covered by 1996 Lautenberg Amendment to the Gun Control Act of 1968. Persons convicted of a misdemeanor or felony crime of domestic violence are not eligible for the position.
- This is a Department of Navy Drug Testing Designated Position (TDP). Required to undergo pre-employment urinalysis requirements and sustainment drug testing.
- Must complete the MCESS training as provided by physical security section.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance.
- This is a mission essential position.
- Must satisfactorily pass the Police Applicant Suitability Review (PASR) investigation.
- Failure to meet conditions of employment may result in disciplinary action or termination.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: monitoring and troubleshooting electronic security systems, Intrusion Detection System, alarm, mass notification and CCTV systems; receive and process incoming fire alarms, 911 calls, emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, medical emergencies or incidents, airfield emergencies and environmental and hazardous materials incidents; dispatch personnel and apparatus to emergencies, record data, events and logs and initiate instructions to callers for fire, medical and police emergencies.
