About the Position: This position is located Headquarters Battalion, Fort Belvoir, Virginia. Fort Belvoir is approximately 15 miles southwest of Washington, D.C., five miles from Alexandria, VA and next door to the community of Mount Vernon, VA. It is within easy driving distance of Washington, D.C., national historical sites and parks.
Duties
Serves as the GC primary administrative official with responsibility for planning, development, and execution of the GC Administrative Management Program.
Serves as the staff action officer for actions assigned to the Office of the GC and provides updates to the Executive Officer (XO) on any GSS actions assigned to the Office of the GC.
Ensures completeness and proper coordination of staffing, compliance with Army regulations/policies and professional quality, with full authority to recommend changes or modify documents as necessary.
Plans, schedules, and directs arrangements for activities hosted by the Commander.
Serves as coordinator/control officer for the complete range of budgetary and administrative functions in developing and implementing various internal operations budgetary programs, policies, and procedures.

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
One year of specialized experience which includes: 1) incoming/outgoing correspondence, records management, publications/forms management, administrative standard operating procedures, and organizational files management. 2) Review, edit, and occasionally compose correspondence, briefing slides, and related materials for Command Group approval, 3) Plan, schedule, and direct arrangements for activities hosted by the Commander. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the Federal service (GS-09)
OR
Education: Ph.D.or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the work of the position, such as Business Administration or Management.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
