This position is part of Administrative Services, Government Publishing Office in Washington, District of Columbia.
Duties
Research and compile information and materials for use in reports and presentations
Oversee food vendor and vending related contracts and services.
Respond to questions of a routine nature based upon functions and operations of the office.
Establish and maintain the necessary files required to support the office staff, maintain, and revise office filing system.
Requirements

- Selectee must pass preemployment requirements prior to appointment
- Males born after 12/03/59 must be registered for Selective Service
- Selectee may be required to serve a one year probationary period
- Selectee must undergo a background investigation for a Suitability background investigation.
- Confidential Financial Disclosure report may be required
- Prior to appointment, selectee must sign GPO For (Self-certification of typing/Keyboarding).
- A qualified typist is required, must be able to type 40 wpm with no more than 3 errors.
- Selectee must pass Drug Test.
Qualifications
To qualify for the Staff Assistant (OA), PG -0303-7, you must meet the following requirements:
To minimally qualify for the PG-07, you must have one year of specialized experience at the PG-06 (or equivalent) level or higher. Specialized experience is defined as:
Perform a variety of clerical and administrative duties, knowledge of administrative service policies, procedures, and directives. Perform the following duties in a work environment or general office administration: (1) Respond to telephone and written inquiries;( 2) Schedule appointments for an office/management into a computerized system; (3) Type correspondence accurately and file documents.
OR
An undergraduate degree in a related field and one year of graduate level education
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
All qualification requirements must be met by the closing date of this announcement(10/25/2024) to be considered.

Substitution of education in lieu of specialized experience may be used for this grade level.

If you cannot obtain your graduate school's definition of one year of graduate study, 18 semester hours (or 27 quarter hours) should be considered as satisfying the requirement for one year of full-time graduate study.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: If you are using education completed in foreign colleges or universities to meet the qualification requirements, you must show the education credentials have been evaluated by a private organization that specializes in interpretation of foreign education programs and such education has been deemed equivalent to that gained in an accredited U.S. education program; or full credit has been given for the courses at a U.S. accredited college or university.
