The primary purpose of the position is to assist senior and other Gallery staff with various administrative responsibilities, including real property management, purchasing, and financial management, and related administrative and technical duties.  Incumbent directly supports fulfilling the Gallery’s mission by assisting senior and other Gallery staff with various administrative responsibilities.

Qualifications

Candidates must meet the Qualification Standards Handbook requirements for the GS-0301-09. One year of specialized experience which is equivalent to one year of specialized experience at the GS-7 level in federal service and/or private sector, and relevant to assisting to develop, manage, promote, and operate an agency owned residential facility. If asked to do so, cite specific examples of employment or experience contained in your resume and describe how this experience has prepared you to successfully perform the duties of this position. DO NOT write "see resume" in your application! Those applicants who meet the minimum qualification requirements will be evaluated against these factors to determine the best-qualified candidates. Skills in administration, organization, and time management. Ability to prioritize varied and sometimes conflicting assignments, including troubleshooting, problem-solving and reconciling changing schedules to meet multiple deadlines. Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with National Gallery officials and colleagues, apartment residents, contractors, condominium association managers, and others. Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with senior staff, peers, and contractors. Knowledge of real property management, including establishing and managing service agreements and contracts, and administering leases and associated lease payments. Knowledge of standards and procedures for preparing and processing small purchases, and contracts from initiation through completion.  "Experience" refers to paid and unpaid experience. Examples of qualifying unpaid experience may include: volunteer work done through National Service programs (such as Peace Corps and AmeriCorps); as well as work for other community-based philanthropic and social organizations. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills; and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Time-in-Grade: Current Federal employees must meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement to receive consideration under merit promotion procedures.
