About the Position: This position is with the Defense Health Agency, Naval Hospital, Directorate of Behavioral Health, Mental Health Department, Agana Height, Guam.

Duties

Provide administrative support various departments within the Naval Hospital, Guam. Uses a variety of software programs and equipment to create, copy, edit, store, retrieve, and print a variety of reports, correspondence, and evaluations. Assist with the scheduling of appointments revising implementing schedules as required for clinical staff, making verbal or e-mail reminders of appointments. assist with arranging meetings/conferences/ briefings. Responsibility for the security of and access to all information systems equipment, adhering to security and regulatory instructions. Establishes and maintains files for correspondence, mail reference, personnel, and department minutes. Prepares and organizes materials needed for community presentations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Appointment to this position is subject to a one year probationary period unless the appointee has previously met the requirements as described in 5 CFR Part 315.
  • Employees assigned to a medical treatment facility are required to be screened for applicable immunizations or pre-existing immunity based on occupational risk, regardless of job series.
  • This position has a mandatory seasonal influenza vaccination requirement and is subject to annual vaccination.
  • Qualified typist is required.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-04). OR Education:Four years of education above the high school level obtained in an accredited business, secretarial or technical school, junior college, college or university. (Note: You must attach a copy of your transcripts.) OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Attention to DetailClericalComputer SkillsCustomer Service (Clerical/Technical) Advancement to positions up to GS-5. Candidates may be advanced without time restriction to positions up to GS-5 if the position to be filled is no more than two grades above the lowest grade the employee held within the preceding 52 weeks under his or her latest nontemporary competitive appointment.
