This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Medicaid and CHIP Services (CMCS), Data and Systems Group (DSG), Division of State Systems (DSS).
As a SUPERVISORY INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY, GS-2210-14, you will serve as the Deputy Director, provide executive leadership in the overall business and operations on behalf of the Division and in the absence of the Director.
Duties
Lead the planning and coordination of functions related to oversight and management of Medicaid state systems.
The incumbent serves as the Deputy Director and provides executive leadership in the overall administrative processes in support of successful business and operations on behalf of the Division.
Provide technical expertise and assisting with leading, directing, planning, and coordinating division staff and activities related to the oversight and management of Medicaid and CHIP state systems.
Provide policy and operational guidance to states and staff in support of leading an internal effort to cross-train Medicaid systems analysts and promote collaboration across the Health Information Technology.
Supervise and direct subordinate staff as a first line manager and provides administrative, policy, and programs objectives, assigns tasks and evaluates the work directed.

In order to qualify for the GS-14 , you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-13 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: 1. Managing projects and teams for activities associated with the administration of a health care information system such as Medicare, Medicaid or CHIP; 2. Leading the coordination of Medicaid technology funding regulations and sub-regulatory guidance related to the system planning and certification process; AND 3. Managing all aspects of a project to include development of statement of work, budgets plans, activity reports, data analysis, etc.
Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
Time-in-Grade: To be eligible, current Federal employees must have served at least 52 weeks (one year) at the next lower grade level from the position/grade level(s) to which they are applying.
