This position is located in the Division of Information Technology, Chief Information Officer Organization (CIOO), Office of Deputy CIOO Technology, FDITECH of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and provides information technology leadership and services. The position may be located in one of the listed Reginal Offices or the Headquarters Office in Washington, DC. Relocation may only be authorized for the Headquarters Office in Washington, DC.
Duties
Incumbent serves as a technical lead, managing the software development of multiple medium to high cost, medium to high impact, and/or medium to high complexity large scale IT Software Projects or assigned automated information systems (AISs) to support business customer needs. As a technical authority, solves significant problems complicated by interfaces and interrelationships between and among programs, systems functions, policies, and numerous critical issues.
Leads the analysis of software and/or hardware problems and provides solutions. Solves a wide range of complex operational and support problems to meet customer requirements. Draws upon multiple IT specialties in order to accomplish complex tasks. Provides consultation and recommendations to organizational components of the FDIC in the establishment of new or improved information systems and/or applications software. Researches emerging technologies and advises managers and customers on software and/or hardware needs, on new technology, and recommends modifications to current software and/or hardware that enhances or improves the corporation’s ability to accomplish mission-critical program activities.
Works with internal partners, such as project team members, Section Chief, Deputy Director, and external partners, such as Business Users, other supporting groups and contractors, to complete projects/products. Independently plans, implements, reports on, and evaluates projects/products and tasks. Leads discussions with stakeholders to ensure that work activities conform to business requirements and industry standards. As technical lead and advisor to the CINO, applies technical and analytical skills to develop and support the best technical solutions to create plans for task order accomplishment.
Qualifications
Qualifying experience may be obtained in the private or public sector. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g. Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic, religious spiritual; community; student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. To qualify, applicants must have completed at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the 14 grade level or above in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience managing Information Technology (IT) projects, including development and management of project objectives, applying agile project management processes, managing project milestone schedules, resource management, and project team management.
You must have Information Technology (IT)-related experience which demonstrates proficiency in each of the following competencies:
