This position is located in the Office of Accident Investigation and Prevention (AVP) within the FAA’s Office of Aviation Safety (AVS) line of business.
Duties
The Operations Research Analyst uses computational and data manipulation methods to perform multiple, varying, and complex research and analytical assignments under the limited direction of a manager, project/ program manager, team leader, or more experienced technical specialist to support AVS initiatives. Applies experience and advanced technical knowledge of the scientific methods and techniques to design, develop, and adapt mathematical and statistical analysis for analyzing management problems and identifying the effects of alternative solutions to these problems.

At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.To qualify for this position, you must demonstrate in your application that you possess at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to FV-H, FG/GS-10-12. Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position.Specialized experience is: Experience applying statistical research methods and techniques in support of an organization's mission.
