You will serve as a PARALEGAL SPECIALIST in the Training and Education Command (TECOM) of TRAINING AND EDUCATION COMMAND.
Duties
You will perform legal duties as assigned or directed by the Supervisory Legal Officer/Law Officer Manager or Assistant Legal Officer.
Prepare initial notification paperwork and conduct initial legal sufficiency reviews for all involuntary enlisted separations.
You will conduct initial legal sufficiency reviews and prepare forwarding endorsements for all Board entitlement.
You will coordinate physical custody turn-overs involving off -base criminal misconduct incidents.
You will process and obtain court records or police reports of all pending In-Hands of Civil/Foreign Authorities (IHCA/IHFA) criminal cases.
You will process and coordinate all(summary/special/general) courts-martial issues/matters from initial submission of a request for Legal Services.
You will serve as Paralegal Specialist for the geographically located staff non-commissioned Officer Academy (SNCOA).
Requirements

Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: providing legal references, basic and initial legal evaluation and options; able to process and/or coordinate courts-martial and nonjudicial punishments; and prepare involuntary administrative separation packages; Prepare legal-related documents pertaining to nonjudicial punishments and involuntary administrative separations; Ability to perform substantive legal research in the areas of military justice (UCMJ) such as nonjudicial punishments, involuntary administrative separations, and courts-martial; Ability to conduct initial legal sufficiency/evidentiary reviews for the aforementioned areas; Ability to prepare unit punishment books (UPBs) and involuntary administrative separation packages and prepare forwarding endorsements for all required legal actions; Provide training and/or advice/assistance on nonjudicial punishments, administrative separations, pre-trial confinement matters, search and seizure, and courts-martial matters.

Education
In lieu of specialized experience, you may qualify with the following education or combination of both education and experience:
Successfully completed a master's or equivalent graduate degree.
or
Successfully completed two full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to a master's degree.
or
Have obtained an LL.B. or J.D. that is related to the position being filled.
or
Have a combination of experience and graduate education as described above that equates to one year of experience. The percentage of the required education plus the percentage of the required experience equal one hundred percent.
