About the Position: Serves as Research, Development, and Acquisition (RDA) Program Protection Policy Specialist and is assigned to the US Army Acquisition Support Center, Long Term Training, located at Arlington, VA.
This is a pay banded position. The NH-03 encompasses grades 12 and 13 on the General Schedule.
Duties
Provides multidisciplinary Research, Development, and Acquisition (RDA) program protection policy expertise within the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Army for Sustainment (DASA(S)).
Develops, institutionalizes, and promulgates risk management strategies and policies across the Department of the Army’s (DA) acquisition community.
Reviews and coordinates program protection plans of U.S. Army acquisition programs that contain Critical Program Information (CPI), critical controlled technical information, and mission-critical system components.
Develops policy recommendations that effectively protect sensitive U.S. Army technologies and programs against hostile targeting and collection efforts.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- The duties of this position require occasional temporary duty (TDY) travel.
- This position requires the incumbent be able to obtain and maintain a determination of eligibility for a Top Secret security clearance or access for the duration of employment.
- This is a testing designated position. Personnel is required to sign DA Form 5019-R (Condition of Employment for Certain Civilian Positions Identified as critical under the Department of the Army Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program).

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience at the next lower grade NH-02/GS-11 or equivalency which includes: 1) Developing risk management strategies and policies to counter threats to the organization's mission-critical systems and their supply chains; 2) Providing advice and assistance to internal customers on integrating information security, cybersecurity, and supply chain security practices into the design, development, test, manufacture, and sustainment of mission-critical systems; AND 3) Coordinating program protection risk management and support for the organization to ensure efforts are consistent with internal and external organizations' policies, processes, strategies, and priorities.
