Duties
This position is located at Alcohol and Tobacco Tax and Trade Bureau (TTB),Assistant Administrator - External Affairs - Chief of Staff.
As a Senior Public Affairs Specialist, you will:
Plans and develops appropriate tools, products, and delivery vehicles, including but not limited to TTB's internet site, newsletters, tutorials, webinars, videos, and other forms of digital and/or online media, to include social media.
Mastery knowledge of communication principles, methods, practices, and techniques sufficient to communicate with a high degree of effectiveness, both orally and in writing.
Assists with the development of, and is responsible for, the day-to-day implementation and monitoring of TTB's external communications and marketing strategic plan in alignment with the organizational goals and objectives and annual business plans.
Identifies emerging external communications needs and communication opportunities and develops appropriate methods to address them, including through improving the accessibility, structure, and content of TTB's external website.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements by the closing date of this announcement.
Specialized experience for the GS-14 is defined as one year of experience at the GS-13 level, or equivalent that is directly related to the position and which has equipped the candidate with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities to successfully perform the duties of the position. Specialized experience for this position includes:
- Serving as a key advisor to a senior official on issues/matters concerning organizational and public communications-related programs and advising all levels within the organization on communications-related issues, including external messaging and outreach; AND
- Establishing and maintaining constructive relations with departmental contacts to review, update or create web content through a website governance program; AND
- Providing strategic communications guidance and recommendations to organizational senior leadership.
In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-14, you must have been at the GS-13level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
