Duties
Planning, programming, developing, implementing, and managing a wide variety of engineer requirements relating
to facilities, utilities, operation, maintenance, sustainment, repair, procurement, and logistics of base support system.
Administers the operations, maintenance, and repair of building facilities and other related services to ensure effectiveness and economical operations of facilities.
Performs responsibilities covering the assembly of data for developing scope of work, establishing
technical requirements for design, and coordinating disciplines to define the necessary scope of work.
Executes high level engineering for low voltage systems for government office buildings, including a structured cabling system comprised of backbone fiber optic and copper cabling support systems.
Develops and maintains preventative maintenance schedules for all site equipment, ensuring accurate technical/maintenance instructions and content.
Ensures no lapses in contracts and that all preventative maintenance occurs as scheduled.

Basic Requirement:
In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below.GS-0801 General Engineer Basic Requirement: Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statistics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics

Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. The adequacy of such background must be demonstrated by one of the following:- Professional registration- Written Test- Specified academic courses- Related curriculum - With this criteria, applicants also need verification of employment from a supervisor stating you have performed professional engineering duties. Time in Grade:
For entry at the GS-12 level, status applicants must have served 52 weeks as a GS-11 or higher grade in the Federal Service.
Specialized Experience:
For the GS-12, you must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent in level of difficulty and responsibility to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal service, or comparable in difficulty and responsibility to GS-11 if outside the Federal service.
Specialized experience is defined as experience developing concepts and participating in design analysis of engineering systems, independently evaluating, selecting, and applying engineering procedures and techniques to assignments.
In addition to meeting the specialized experience requirements, qualified applicants must also possess the quality of experience as it relates to how closely or to what extent an applicant's background, recency of experience, education, and training are relevant to the duties and responsibilities of the announced position. Candidates must clearly demonstrate the possession of competencies necessary to successfully perform the work of the position at the appropriate level to be qualified for the position.
