This position is being recruited under 10 USC 1599f into the Cyber Excepted Service and does NOT convey eligibility to be converted to the Competitive Service. It has been identified as a position necessary to carry out and support the mission of the US Cyber Command. It is in the Professional Work Category at the Expert Work Level within the CES Occupational Structure. It is located in the DISA-JHA.

Duties

Perform strategic systems migration planning, capturing and translating mission and customer functional, performance, and support capabilities into requirements. Allocate requirements to systems architecture components. Responsible for building schedules and the planning, research, development, and engineering of assigned projects. Explain team goals and objectives, solve work problems, and apply sound system engineering processes that promote process improvement. Provide analyses, reports, presentations, and make recommendations on project management within the division. Draft project initiation documents and develop project plans identifying project scope, schedules, costs, stakeholders, and deliverables. Liaison with program and System Engineers, agencies, specialists, contractors, and user representatives on matters pertaining to assigned engineering areas. Participate in and represent the Command at meetings, conferences, and program reviews. Enable the delivery of Defensive Cyber Operations Technology services using interdisciplinary approaches. Support fundamental enterprise architecture changes, designing, and planning integration and interoperability efforts.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for this position, you must meet the requirements described below. Basic Requirements: All applicants MUST provide transcripts. Failure to provide transcripts will affect your eligibility. For the GG-0801 Professional Engineering Series: Degree: professional engineering. To be acceptable, the curriculum must: (1) be in a school of engineering with at least one curriculum accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET) as a professional engineering curriculum; or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. OR Combination of education and experience -- college-level education, training, and/or technical experience that furnished (1) a thorough knowledge of the physical and mathematical sciences underlying professional engineering, and (2) a good understanding, both theoretical and practical, of the engineering sciences and techniques and their applications to one of the branches of engineering. For this position, qualifying experience is defined as: experience supporting fundamental enterprise architecture changes; designing, and planning integration and interoperability efforts for enterprise technologies; and engaging in project status reporting to include monitoring performance metrics.
