This position is part of the International Development Finance Corporation, Office of Development Policy (ODP). As a Managing Director, Environmental & Social Risk Assessment (Financial Intermediaries) you will be serve as a second-level supervisor, directing DFC's environmental and social risk assessment program for small business support, financial services, and investment funds/financial intermediaries (FI) projects. .

Duties

As the Managing Director, Environmental & Social Risk Assessment (OPM Official Title: Supervisory Environmental and Social Risk Specialist) you will. Lead the Environmental & Social (E&S) Risk Assessment team focused on reviewing financial intermediary (FI) deals for E&S risks originating primarily from the Office of Investment Funds (OIF) and Office of Small Business and Financial Services (OSBFS). Oversee and direct the approach and implementation of E&S risk management for DFC's FI portfolio. Partner with the E&S Division management team in assuring policies, procedures and other ways of working support a functional E&S risk management system, regular and ongoing improvement, and consistency in implementation. Support and assure team members' success and accountability for delivering against E&S Division objectives, provide and connect on needed technical guidance, support professional development objectives of team members, fosters sense of team and shared success within the E&S Division and ODP. Represent DFC and ODP at internal and external high-level meetings on sensitive E&S matters in relation to the FI portfolio. Facilitate and direct engagement with internal and external stakeholders with respect to DFC's FI portfolio.

Qualifications

Applicants must meet all eligibility and qualification requirements no later than the closing date of this announcement. Status candidates must meet time-in-grade requirements (52 weeks at the next lower grade level). TIME-IN-GRADE: Current career or career-conditional employees of the Federal government, or former career or career-conditional employees, who have a break in service of less than one year, are required to meet the time-in-grade restriction of one year of Federal experience at the next lower grade, with few exceptions outlined in 5 CFR 300.603(b). SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT: You may qualify at the GS-15 level, if you fulfill the following qualification requirements: One year of specialized experience equivalent in difficulty and complexity to the GS-14 level in the Federal service. Specialized experience is defined as experience in all of the following: 1) overseeing environmental and social risk management across a wide-range of investment funds/financial intermediary projects to ensure compliance with applicable standards; 2) presenting recommendations to leadership and/or briefing external stakeholders on environmental and social risk assessment analysis, policies and/or procedures; 3) collaborating across teams to develop and disseminate new/revised policies, procedures, and/or methodologies for environmental and social risk management system; and 4) supervising a team. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
