The Resources, Science & Industry Division of the Congressional Research Service is seeking an Analyst in Industrial Organization & Business with a focus on advanced manufacturing & industrial organization of high technology industries. 

Duties

The analyst will cover various topics within industrial policy, especially related to advanced manufacturing and industrial organization of high technology industries. Knowledge of the history, trends, and current status of production and supply chains for semiconductors, renewable energy hardware, or other emerging technologies and interrelationships of domestic industries with federal policies in key topic areas such as research and development, economics, and the workforce are key skills for the position. The analyst will collaborate with other CRS staff, as necessary, to consider how a variety of policy initiatives might affect programs, jobs, and the economy, and how interrelationships with technological change affect federal policy. The candidate should understand facets of industrial technology and its impact on society. The ideal candidate will demonstrate ability to develop expertise in new areas.

Applicants must have had progressively responsible experience and training sufficient in scope and quality to furnish them with an acceptable level of the following knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the duties of the position without more than normal supervision. Knowledge of industrial organization and business** Ability to analyze public policy issues** Ability to write in a public policy context** Ability to convey analysis and information orally through briefings, consultations and other presentations Ability to work collaboratively with others Ability to exercise objectivity in all phases of analysis and consultation Ability to communicate effectively other than in writing
