About the Position: Serve as the Facility Operations Specialist with the 12th Aviation Battalions S-4 section. This position is located at Fort Belvoir, VA.

Duties

Work directly with Brigade Facility Coordinator on facility operations for oversight and approvals in accordance with Army Regulations and local policies. Inspect work to ensure proper accomplishment of equipment installation is in accordance with specifications and meets functional needs. Develop, implement, maintain, and manage the initiation, execution, and closeout of Demand Maintenance Orders and Project Work Orders in accordance with regulations, policies, and Standard Operating Procedures. Review and/or initiate all work requests for modification, maintenance, and repair of assigned facilities for feasibility, adequacy, and assurance of compliance with regulations.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Position is Non-Critical Sensitive (T3), must obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance.
  • Position has been designated Key (2): This position has been identified as being a Key and Mission Essential position
  • Employee may be required to participate in contingency readiness exercises.
  • One year trial/probationary period may be required.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes coordinate maintenance for building repairs; brief facility status to higher level management; and assist with initiating work requests for assigned facilities. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: property management, business administration, or organization and leadership. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Facilities Procurement and Contract ManagementFacilities Requirements Analysis and PlanningOral Communication Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
