The primary purpose of this position is as an Air Reserve Technician (ART) Officer (Lieutenant Colonel equivalent), to serve as the Chief of the Logistics Installation and Aircraft Maintenance Branch providing staff direction and guidance that assures organizational and complete rang of logistics readiness, planning and support to aircraft maintenance and logistic processes.
Duties
Provide staff direction and guidance to aircraft maintenance activities subordinate to the Numbered Air Force to ensure policy, plans, and programs are carried out effectively.
Primarily serves as supervisor for the aircraft maintenance team that conducts Readiness Assistance Visits with the operational maintenance units under its authority, and in this capacity to develop, orchestrate, and implement the full spectrum of logistics and aircraft maintenance compliance activities.
Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Applies operational planning strategy to assist and assess unit readiness.
Oversee the development and maintenance of readiness plans.

- Position may or will require incumbent to Fly in military and/or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty (TDY) assignments
- Required to meet and maintain Air Force Reserve requirements. Incumbent's regular assignments are primarily ART duties: however, the incumbent may be assigned some non-ART duties, generally not to exceed 30 percent of total responsibilities
- Position may require a background security investigation to determine suitability for employment and/or a security clearance

- This is a key management position, incumbent is required to formulate, determine, and/or influence policies
- Unless exempt, selectee must satisfactorily complete a one year supervisory/managerial probationary period
- Position is designation as a mobility position. Incumbent must be willing to move/transfer to another unit/location on lateral or promotion basis as directed by HQ Air Force Reserve Command

Qualifications
In order to qualify, you must meet the specialized experience requirements described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Administrative and Management Positions,
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-12 level in federal service (or equivalent in other pay systems) in which equipped the applicant with the particular knowledge, skills, and abilities (KSAs) to perform successfully the duties of the position. Specialized experience is experience which which might have been gained while assisting in the development and performance of technical, and operational aircraft maintenance, which may have included performing on-site visits, weapon system performance and operational planning strategies to ensure unit readiness.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge of operation concepts, maintenance policies and procedures.
Knowledge of operational principles, practices, and organization; ability to recognize the interrelationships of the various aspects of operating programs; and skill in integrating and analyzing such information in order to evaluate overall program status.
Skill in retrieving current or historical information from maintenance/logistics data systems to apply analytical and evaluative methods and techniques to issue or studies concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations.
Knowledge of safety and security regulations, practices, and procedures.
Ability to plan, organize, communicate effectively, and direct the functions and mentor, motivate, and appraise the staff of an organization through the subordinate supervisors.
Ability to analyze, plan, and adjust work operations of one or more organizational segments to meet program requirements and objectives within available resources.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.
