Duties
Serves as primary technical specialist for the S-E workforce supporting the designated functional mission area
Acts as a consultant for designated functional mission area within and outside the organization to include industry and government.
Performs complex and comprehensive analysis and uses systematic, disciplined, and quantifiable approaches to implement, develop, and document projects.
Serves as the technical specialist for the organization and provides status and advisory services to superiors on problems, issues, and projects in assigned program areas.

- This is a designated Drug Testing Position.

- The employee may be required to travel om military and/or commercial aircraft to perform temporary duty assignments.
- Must meet, or be capable of meeting within 6 months, Information Assurance System Architects and Engineers Level II, Special Experience Identifier Code CO2, in accordance with DoD8570.01M requirements applicable to the duties of the position.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
1. Mastery-level professional knowledge of electronics engineering and computer science concepts, theories, principles, and practices and working knowledge of other disciplines, such as aerospace, industrial, mechanical, and/or electrical engineering; of a broad range of engineering standards, precedents, methods, and techniques to ensure work in compliance with regulations and standards; and the applicability of such knowledge to the full range of duties concerned with design, production, and maintenance of Operational Flight Programs, Automated Test Systems, Test Program Set Software, and other systems used to support the warfighter and weapons systems program offices.
2. Expert knowledge of development testing and evaluation sufficient to apply experimental theories and new applications to issues and provide technical advice and direction in support of weapon systems, subsystems, and/or support equipment.
3. Knowledge of integrated air-vehicles, ground systems, and support equipment sufficient to plan, design, test, troubleshoot, evaluate, and oversee the development and/or sustainment of electronic systems or devices.
4. Knowledge of the principles of planning and program management; standard acquisition regulations, practices, and procedures; and other engineering disciplines.
5. Ability to devise and evaluate criteria, parameters, characteristics, and interrelationships for design approaches, and to assess the impact of new technology on current systems and processes.
6. Skilled at presenting complex information and educating others to support collaboration and teamwork.
7. Ability to apply both academic and learned concepts and methods to solve complex problems as well as conceive new ideas and methodologies for approaching problems to improve project, program and organizational performance.
8. Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and with technical accuracy, both orally and in writing, as well as work in a professional manner with peers, management, contractors, academia, and other agencies.
9. Skilled at presenting complex information and educating others to support collaboration and teamwork.
Education
1550 Series:
Basic Requirements: Bachelor's degree in computer science or bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science. At least 15 of the 30 semester hours must have included any combination of statistics and mathematics that included differential and integral calculus. All academic degrees and course work must be from accredited or pre-accredited institutions.
Evaluation of Education: Applicants should have sufficient knowledge to understand the fundamental concepts and techniques of computer science. Courses designed to provide an introduction to computer science techniques and methodologies, to problems of system design, and to other specialized fields are acceptable. Courses or experience in teaching elementary, business, or shop mathematics are not acceptable.
