About the Position: This position is a TERM Not to Exceed 3 years position. It is time-limited and may be extended up to a maximum of eight years.
Duties
Instruct resident, distance learning, and mobile training courses for the organization.
Ensure teaching supplies, equipment, and classrooms are available and operational.
Recommend long and short ranges updates to lesson plans as changes occur in subject matter areas.
Identify training materials to be updated based on changing guidelines or knowledge requirements.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires other than normal duty hours, which may include evenings, weekends, and/or
holidays.
- Requires approximately 25% TDY.
- Incumbent required to obtain and maintain an IT Level II certification [e.g. CompTIA Security+],
within six months of employment.
- Incumbent required to pass the Cyber Common Technical Core Course or equivalent, within one
year of employment.
- Incumbent required to obtain and maintain the appropriate certifications in the classes to which
they instruct, as directed by the Battalion Commander [e.g. CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco, ISC2, and
others.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education and/or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Your resume must clearly describe your relevant experience; if qualifying based on education, your transcripts will be required as part of your application. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes: develop or review training/course materials, aids, devices, etc. and evaluating the training results; utilize a wide rant of training methods, techniques, and tools to design and develop new training courses and materials; assist in course management and administration through scheduling classes, requesting support materials for classes, and maintaining class records; instruct technically complex topics centered around operating systems, programming, networking, and cyber security.This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09).
OR
Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Adult Education.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages.
OR
Have a both the Specialized Experience and Educational Requirements.
