This position is located in the Department of Compact Operations (DCO) within Africa Programs of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC). Although the position is advertised equivalent to GS-9/11, MCC uses a pay banded system to compensate employees. This position is pay band 5A/4C which is generally equal to GS-9/11.

Duties

Provides administrative support to the respective Deputy Vice President (DVP) and Managing Director[s] (MD) including preparation of materials and rooms for meetings, events, conferences, and travel. This includes coordinating administrative tasks with MCC departments, as necessary. Assists in developing and managing tracking and reporting tools to monitor progress of the portfolio. Assists in the planning of events, workshops and team conferences, including developing the agenda, organizing panel members and speakers, and coordinating logistics. Tracks division travel, leave, and training for the division's management team. Manages the DVP and MD's travel, including supporting itinerary development, timely delivery of briefings and related materials and generation and preparation of required documents prior to and following travel. Develops briefing papers, speeches/remarks, talking points, data visualization tools, and background materials for external engagement events, working with other divisions as needed. Prepares correspondence, recommendations, reports, and memoranda related to administrative programs and issues. Conducts research and provides summaries and analyses on information requested. Drafts correspondence and responds, in oral and written forms, to requests for information by determining the nature of the information requested and assembling the material using the appropriate format and style based on established policies and requirements. Reviews incoming correspondence or documents requiring DVP or MD approval. Determines which items are of interest and/or require follow-up by the DVP and MDs or can be directed to other relevant parties. Performs other duties as assigned.

  • Relocation expenses will not be paid

Qualifications

To qualify for pay band 5A applicants must meet one of the following: Have at least one year of specialized experience relevant to the position duties and comparable to the MCC Pay Band 5 (GS-7) or an equivalent level which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, this experience is defined as; experience providing administrative support to senior staff; experience reviewing and editing documents and materials prepared by staff for approval; experience developing briefing papers, speeches/remarks, talking points, data visualization tools, and background materials; and experience with MS Word, Excel PowerPoint, MS Project, and web-based management information systems (e.g. SharePoint) to produce documents, reports, etc. Note: This experience MUST be well documented within your resume or application. OR Applicants may also qualify based on completing requirements master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related to the work of this position. OR Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work. To qualify for pay band 4C applicants must meet one of the following: Have at least one year of specialized experience relevant to the position duties and comparable to the MCC Pay Band 5 (GS-9) or an equivalent level which is directly related to the work of this position and which has equipped the applicant with the knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform successfully the duties of the position. For this position, this experience is defined as; providing administrative support to senior staff; conducting research to respond to data calls and inquiries and preparing summaries and analyses; drafting and editing documents and materials prepared by staff for approval; developing briefing papers, speeches/remarks, talking points, data visualization tools, and background materials; and experience with MS Word, Excel PowerPoint, MS Project, and web-based management information systems (e.g. SharePoint) to produce documents, reports, etc. Note: This experience MUST be well documented within your resume or application. OR Applicants may qualify based on completing requirements for a Ph.D. or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher-level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.M., if related. Such education must be related to work of this position and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work. OR Combination of experience and education: Equivalent combinations of successfully completed education and experience may be used to meet the experience requirements. Such education must be related to work of this position and demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities to do the work. PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit may be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work.
