Duties
You will Manage the budget for the Mk4B program, to include planning, execution tracking, and managing budgets based on performance of the Mk4B industrial partners.
You will maintain the Mk4B budget package and present the program annually at the SSP Board of Directors (BOD) review.
You will lead the joint DoD/DOE Mk4B working group, which includes all government and industrial partners responsible for fielding the Mk4B program.
You will be responsible for providing program direction and leading the joint team to execute the program in accordance with the joint DoD/DOE schedule.
You will manage the contracts for all scope necessary to execute the Mk4B program.
You will perform contract scope definition, proposal evaluation, fact finding, and any ancillary activities needed to award the contract.
You will work with the relevant SSP branches, oversee the integration of the Mk4B into the rest of the Strategic Weapon System.
You will coordinate plans and execution with the applicable SSP Command stakeholders to ensure all testing, evaluations, and documentation are completed to achieve the Mk4B system Initial Operational Capability according to the program schedule.
You will lead the risk management process for the Mk4B program.
You will work with Mk4B industrial partners to identify risks, provide direction and funding for risk mitigation activities, and brief program risk status at applicable branch and SSP risk and budget reviews.

- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- You will be required to complete ethics orientation within three months of appointment and submit a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE-450, within 30 days of appointment.
- This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA). Certification in the Acquisition Functional Area and category assigned to the position is required within established category timeframes.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
Qualifications
Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-3 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: working as a professional engineer or physicist managing or leading projects related to re-entry systems. Partnering with external federal agencies such as Department of Energy or National Nuclear Security Administration to accomplish mutual mission objectives.

Education
For the 08XX series:
Successful completion of a professional engineering degree. To be acceptable, the program must: (1) lead to a bachelor's degree (or higher) in a school of engineering with at least one program accredited by the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology (ABET); or (2) include differential and integral calculus and courses (more advanced than first-year physics and chemistry) in five of the following seven areas of engineering science or physics: (a) statics, dynamics; (b) strength of materials (stress-strain relationships); (c) fluid mechanics, hydraulics; (d) thermodynamics; (e) electrical fields and circuits; (f) nature and properties of materials (relating particle and aggregate structure to properties); and (g) any other comparable area of fundamental engineering science or physics, such as optics, heat transfer, soil mechanics, or electronics. Such education must demonstrate the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position.
OR
Current registration as an Engineer Intern (EI), Engineer in Training (EIT), or licensure as a Professional Engineer (PE) by any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, or Puerto Rico. Successful completion of at least 60 semester hours of courses in the physical, mathematical, and engineering sciences and in engineering that included the courses specified in the basic requirements under paragraph A (above). The courses must be fully acceptable toward meeting the requirements of an engineering program as described in paragraph A (above)
OR
Successful completion of a curriculum leading to a bachelor's degree in an appropriate scientific field, e.g., engineering technology, physics, chemistry, architecture, computer science, mathematics, hydrology, or geology, may be accepted in lieu of a bachelor's degree in engineering, provided the applicant has had at least one year of professional engineering experience acquired under professional engineering supervision and guidance. Ordinarily, there should be either an established plan of intensive training to develop professional engineering competence, or several years of prior professional engineering-type experience, e.g., in interdisciplinary positions.
For the 1310 series:

Degree: physics; or related degree that included at least 24 semester hours in physics.
or

Combination of education and experience -- courses equivalent to a major in physics totaling at least 24 semester hours, plus appropriate experience or additional education.
In either A or B above, the courses must have included a fundamental course in general physics and, in addition, courses in any two of the following: electricity and magnetism, heat, light, mechanics, modern physics, and sound.
