Duties

Serves as Project Management Specialist for the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of specified projects. Performs duties as the Contracting Officer's Representative (COR), completes the Statement of Work (SOW), and monitors the performance of work under contract. Evaluates requests, reviews technical requirements for completeness and consistency with policies and regulations, reviews contract specifications and requirements, and ensures price and cost effectiveness. Plans and schedules project timelines and milestones using appropriate tools. Responsible for all functions related to conference room scheduling, setup, furnishings and AV operations, and maintenance contract administration. Track project milestones and deliverables, adjusts plans for efficiency and effectiveness to meet schedules and deadlines, peak workloads, and changing priorities.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • Must complete COR training and certification for Type A per the DoDI 5000.72 within one year of appointment and within the prescribed time frame of designation of COR duties.
  • This position has a Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel requirement up to 15% for official duties/training.
  • This position requires you to submit a a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report (OGE450) upon entry, and annually thereafter.

This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: accounting, financial analysis, business administration, or project management. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementOral CommunicationProgram/Project Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
