Duties
As a Director Policy and Legislative Initiatives Division, you will:
Establish strategic goals, objectives, and activities for the Division that are aligned with management plan goals and implementation of AFFH efforts.
Independently make decisions regarding projects or program segments to be initiated or curtailed.
Establish and assigns clear and measurable employee performance standards, assigns work to subordinates based on priorities, establishes and evaluates workload to ensure that work is conducted efficiently and effectively.
Analyze and evaluates the impact of current and proposed HUD policies and programs on both a quantitative and qualitative basis.
Recommend policy changes and both short- and long-term strategic planning to meet the goals of the Policy Office.
Qualifications
You must meet the following requirements within 30 days of the closing date of this announcement
Specialized Experience: For the GS-15, you must have one year (52 full weeks) of specialized experience at a level of difficulty and responsibility equivalent to the GS-14 grade level in the Federal service. Specialized Experience for this position includes:
-Interpreting and implementing policies and regulations for fair housing and civil rights programs for consistency and efficiency in achieving fair housing goals; AND
-Establishing goals, objectives and activities for subordinates and managing resources; AND
-Presenting legislative initiatives to subordinates and senior leadership.
Experience may have been gained in either the public, private sector or volunteer service. One year of experience refers to full-time work; part-time work is considered on a prorated basis. Time-in-Grade: In addition to the above requirements, you must meet the following time-in-grade requirement, if applicable:
For the GS-15you must have been at the GS-14 level for 52 weeks.
Time After Competitive Appointment: Candidates who are current Federal employees serving on a non-temporary competitive appointment must have served at least three months in that appointment.
