You will serve as an INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY SPECIALIST (SYS ADMIN) for the Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) Information
Technology Operations Branch, Information Technology Services Division, Information Technology Services Department of NAVOCEANO BAY ST LOUIS.
Duties
You will independently plan and carry out assignments, interprets policy, procedures, and actions, in conformance with mission objectives and organizational processes.
You will be the primary technical lead and coordinates team technical modifications to avoid operational outages and ensure architectural consistency.
You will evaluate and interpret existing instructions for guidance and constraints.
You will serve as an expert responsible for computer and operating system operational availability in support of NAVOCEANO oceanographic data collection, receipt, and processing.
Requirements

- You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.
- This position is designated as a Cyber IT/Cybersecurity Workforce position. You must obtain and maintain the credentials as described in SECNAV M-5239.2 for specialty area 451, Systems Administration level, within 12 months of appointment.
- Successful completion of a pre-employment drug test (including marijuana) is required. A tentative offer of employment will be rescinded if you fail to report to the drug test appointment or fail the test. You will be subject to random testing.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
- This position is subject to work an uncommon tour, including nights, weekends, and holidays to meet mission requirements. Overtime or night differential pay and/or unusual duty hours may be required.
Qualifications
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-12 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following:
Experience in managing and optimizing Windows server operating systems, leveraging hands-on experience to enhance system performance and reliability.
Experience providing information assurance and security best practices, applied to safeguard Windows systems, applications, and infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
Experience in effective verbal and written communication techniques in order to create detailed technical documentation and the development of comprehensive standard operating procedures for various IT initiatives.
Experience successfully leading complex information technology and cybersecurity projects as both a project manager and technical lead, delivering results on time and within budget while coordinating cross- functional teams.
Extensive experience with enterprise management systems, including PDQ Deploy, Ansible, Microsoft Endpoint Manager, and Microsoft SCCM, optimizing deployment processes and improving system management efficiency.
Experience operating systems administrative knowledge in the specific, updated and approved Department of Defense (DOD) Windows operating system (OS) version.
