This position serves as an Administrative Specialist, located in the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ), National Security Division (NSD) in Washington, D.C. NSD is responsible for developing, enforcing, and supervising the application of all federal criminal laws related to the national counterterrorism and counterintelligence enforcement programs, except those specifically assigned to other divisions.

This position serves as an Administrative Specialist, providing administrative support to one or more NSD attorneys engaged in national security work.
Duties of this Administrative Specialist position include but are not limited to:
Reviews, formats, and prepares correspondence, reports and written memoranda, as needed or directed.
Assists Section Chiefs, Deputy Section Chiefs, Unit Chiefs, Deputy Unit Chiefs, attorneys, and support staff with time and attendance; travel arrangements and vouchering; and correspondence processing and tracking; in a timely manner.
Updates the Section's management systems on a timely basis, ensures process tracking entries are entered; and maintains files consistent with Department and Section requirements.
Developing office policies and procedures for all incoming and departing employees.
Performs a variety of critical office management functions such as planning, development, formulation and execution of the activity's budget, management of the organization's property book, administration of personnel, manpower, and force development requirements, training coordination, and travel system administration.
Schedule appointments: maintains calendar of meetings, TDY, and leave; and makes arrangements for time, participants, and location of meetings or conferences.
Responsible for the daily routines of the office in the area of administrative management such as: maintaining and ordering office supplies through the NSD Procurement Officer, maintenance of office equipment and tracking office inventory.
Prepares and tracks requests for compensatory time and overtime and completes utilization reports for submission to payroll.
Requirements
- You must be a United States Citizen or National.

Qualifications
To qualify for the position of Administrative Specialist, (GS-0301-9), you must meet the basic qualification requirements listed below AND possess the required specialized experience specific to the series and grade you are applying to.
To qualify for the GS-0301-09, you MUST meet the following specialized experience:
Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-07 grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector assisting on special projects as necessary with regards to office policies and procedures AND advising management or staff in the interpretation or application of administrative procedures.

Have a master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or LL.B. or J.D., if related.
-OR-
Some specialized experience as described above, but less than one year; and have more than one year but less than two years of education as described in B. (To compute the percentage, divide your total months of qualifying experience by 12. Then divide your semester hours of graduate education beyond the first year by 18. Add the two percentages. The total percentage must equal at least 100 percent to qualify).

Education
