About the Position: Serves as a Human Resources Assistant for the NCO Leadership Center of Excellence and Sergeants Major Academy, serving senior enlisted Soldiers (Active Duty, USAR, and National Guard) in a training status attending the resident Sergeants Major Course (SMC) and assists with the preparation of civilian personnel actions.
Duties
Conducts research on personnel actions affecting military personnel in the command as well as develops appropriate recommendations for the command positions on these actions.
Assists in the resolution of individual personnel issues and cases by developing and coordinating plans leading to satisfactory conclusions acceptable to senior Command officials and service members.
Researches a variety of personnel regulations and policies on a regular basis to assist military personnel and their dependents with queries and procedural requirements for all related military personnel actions.
Processes personnel actions concerning service members assigned and their dependents, e.g., marital and family member status changes, name change requests.
Reviews, verifies and processes a variety of payroll and time and attendance data impacting pay, electronic funds transfer (EFT) payroll deposits, leave, taxes, benefits, other deductions, and master payroll record information.
Provides guidance and advice on the proper methods and procedures in accordance with established guidelines regarding processing of ID card applications.
Serves as a Site Manager (SSM) ensuring the latest version of ID cards, Defense Enrollment Eligibility Reporting Systems (DEERS), and Real-time Automated Personnel Identification Systems (RAPIDS) is operational and up to date.
Service as Civilian Personnel ATAAPS Payroll Representative: processes a variety of payroll and time and attendance data impacting pay, electronic funds transfer (EFT) payroll deposits, leave, taxes, benefits, and other deductions.
Reviews Soldier's Medical Readiness and Exceptional Family Member status reports for graduation and reassignment requirements.

In order to qualify, you must meet the experience requirements described below. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes (1) Processing military personnel actions to include reassignments, promotions and medical restrictions; (2) processing military pay and entitlement transactions; (3) applying military identification card and entitlements regulations; (4) performing civilian payroll functions such as time and attendance processing; (4) using military and civilian personnel systems to complete administrative tasks. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-05).

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-05). To be referred, applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade and qualification requirements within 30 days from the date the referral list is issued.
Education
