Are you a strong leader with supply management experience? If so, we are seeking a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist to lead our Medical Supplies and Services team. As a Supervisory Supply Management Specialist you will implement procedures and processes to ensure that the services provided are of high quality. You will also serve as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR-Level II) for medical supplies and equipment purchases, services and contracts.
Duties
Managing the activities of the Section which include the requisitioning, receiving, storing, and reissuing of medical facility bulk supplies and equipment and facility services which are procured, stored and reissued in a continuing cycle.
Working closely with MMESD and other NIH Clinical Center staff in analyzing supply practices, models, systems and processes, and develops and recommends strategies that allow for better support to the NIH Clinical Center.
Serving as a Contracting Officer Representative (COR - Level II) for medical facility bulk supplies and equipment purchases, services and contracts. These various contracts are of high dollar value and range from software, specialized medical equipment to contractor services.
Exercising full supervisory responsibility over the staff of the section.
Requirements
- U.S. Citizenship requirement or proof of being a U.S. National must be met by closing date.
- Employment is subject to the successful completion of the pre-appointment process (i.e., background investigation, verification of qualifications and job requirements, completion of onboarding forms, submission of required documents, etc.)

- The work requires regular and recurring physical exertion such as long periods of standing, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, and similar activities in and around storage areas and the Clinical Center.
- Work is performed in a setting in which there is regular and recurring exposure to moderate discomforts and unpleasantness.
- The incumbent is required to use protective clothing or gear such as masks, gowns, coats, boots, goggles, gloves, etc. in the storage area and must follow special precautions when working around storage areas.
- If selected, you will be required to complete a Confidential Financial Disclosure Report, OGE Form 450.
- This position has been designated as a Tier I "Emergency Employee" position.
Qualifications
You qualify at the GS-12 level, if you meet one of the following qualification requirements:
You must demonstrate in your resume at least one (1) year of qualifying experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: establishing medical supply and medical equipment storage and distribution procedures and guidelines; managing and administering medical supply, medical equipment, contracts, and budgets; analyzing supply practices, models, and systems; processing and developing and recommending strategies that improve operations and efficiencies.
