This position is located in the Office of Intramural Research (OIR), Office of the Director (OD), National Institutes of Health (NIH), Department of Health and Human Services (HHS).

Duties

As an Executive Assistant, your duties will include, but are not limited to the following: Plans and prepares reports or other working documents related to complex program assessment and issues, including but not exclusively risk management in the intramural research program and management controls in the Office of Intramural Research and its component divisions. Coordinates master planning, scheduling, and office and conference support matters with management staff to ensure there are no gaps in coverage and management of schedules, events, conferences, or unanticipated needs for change. Recommends changes to office policies and practices to remedy circumstances of concern or change and works with other staff members to implement new policies and procedures. Works with the Deputy Director for Intramural Research to create and implement the infrastructure for development of a strategic plan for the Office of Intramural Research and for NIH-wide aspects of the Intramural Research Program. Provides administrative support for special projects and initiatives undertaken or assigned in a liaison capacity by the Deputy Director for Intramural Research and acting as the point of contact for communications.

Qualifications

In order to qualify for a Executive Assistant, GS-0301 position at the GS-12 level, you must have 1 year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the GS-11 level in the Federal service obtained in either the private or public sector, performing the following types of tasks: 1) Coordinates, monitors, and plans events, such as schedules, events, conferences, and unanticipated event changes. 2) Plans and prepares reports or other working documents related to complex program assessment and/or issues. 3) Participates in the development of business and operational planning documents to integrate into overall strategic planning processes. and 4) Receives visitors and telephone calls on behalf of the organization, forwarding calls and directing visitors to appropriate staff members. You will receive credit for all experience material to the position, including experience gained in religious, civic, welfare, service, and organizational activities, regardless of whether you received pay.
