About the Position: Position may be filled as a time-limited promotion, reassignment or change to lower grade not to exceed (NTE) 120 days by a current permanent Army employee. Time-limited promotions may be extended up to a maximum of five years. Time-limited reassignments and changes to lower grade may exceed five years, however return rights may be impacted.
New hire will be working at the district office in San Francisco, CA.
Duties
Performs technical support duties to assist the Section or Branch Chief and Regulatory Project Managers in accomplishing the overall responsibilities of the section/branch.
Enters all incoming Regulatory applications into the Ombil Regulatory Module database (ORM), assigns action identification numbers (DA numbers).
Reviews files to ensure receipt of required submittals and takes initial steps to obtain compliance, including contacting permittees and issuing initial non-compliance letters.
Responsible for providing administrative and clerical support to the Regulatory Program at a district office.
Announces public notice availability by e-mail, maintains mailing list for public notices.
Serves as the record management coordinator.
Manages office scanning initiatives, including planning, coordinating and implementing purging of paper files, submitting to contractor, and processing payment.

In order to qualify, you must meet the education or experience requirements described below. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community; student; social). You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience. Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes operating software systems and programs to digitalize documents, extract data to produce reports, and prepare office correspondence. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06)
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Business, Administrative, Human Resources.
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors.

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
