About the Position: The position supports the organization's mission to remain Joint Commission survey ready through on-site observations, data analysis, and leadership engagement. The position is located at Womack Army Medical Center within the Quality Services Division. Hours of Work are Monday-Friday 0730-1600.

Duties
Monitor and review medical records in accordance with The Joint Commission standards and requirements.
Develop data elements for monitoring evaluation of health care provided including charts and medical documents.
Maintain quality control documents of medication and blood usages, operative and invasive procedures, utilization of risk management, credentials, safety, infection control, and adverse drug reaction.
Research, identify, analyze and record problem areas within the patient care delivery system.
Distinguish problems that individual health care providers caused from those resulting from inadequate standards of care.
Review and evaluate services provided by Product Line Teams and ensures records and reports are in compliance with all standards (The Joint Commission, Interqual, Army Regulations, MEDCEN memorandum and pamphlets, etc.
Perform random sampling inspections of Product Line Teams areas to assess the quality of service.
Perform forward facing strategic engagement with organizational leaders.
Provide regulation interpretation and education to support organizational compliance to the Joint Commission standards.
Facilitate or participate in data presentations for the executive leadership team and organization.
Ablility to work independently and as a team member.

- Immunization screening is required (Tuberculosis). Hepatitis B immunization is required for all positions with direct patient contact. Applicants may be required to show proof of other immunizations depending on the type of position.
- Must be able to obtain and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Red Cross or American Heart Association. Advanced certification (e.g., ALS) does not supersede BLS.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes utilizing office automation software to produce correspondences and reports; assisting with identifying problem areas within healthcare systems and/or processes related to patient care; preparing statistical data reports for management. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-07).

Education: Master's or equivalent graduate degree or 2 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree with a major study in hospital administration, public health administration, or related fields such as business or public administration with course work in health care administration.

Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the first year (total graduate semester hours minus 18) by 18. Add the two percentages.
