About the Position: The Transition Coordinator position is located at the Soldier Recovery Unit (SRU) at El Paso, TX

Duties

Research, analyze, develop, and implement procedural, administrative, regulatory, and policy guidance of the Army Recovery Care Program (ARCP). Integrate Career and Education Readiness (CER) support elements found internal and external to the installation to enable a successful transition program. Serve as liaison, coordinates with other installation service providers and private sector organizations, and employers ensuring the most complete, efficient, effective, and productive transition services are afforded and provided. Partner and collaborate with public to makes decisions/commitments of a binding nature based on broad knowledge of regulatory and statutory requirements.

Requirements

  • Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
  • This position requires a secret clearance.
  • This position requires the completion of a pre-employment Physical Examination

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes performing administrative and analytical duties involved in providing career and education readiness counseling support services by collaborating with organizations to provide client services and assistance. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the second lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-09). OR Education: Ph.D or equivalent doctoral degree or 3 full years of progressively higher level graduate education leading to such a degree or in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as: Business Administration or Health Care Administration. OR Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) beyond the second year (total graduate semester hours minus 36) by 18. Add the two percentages. You will be evaluated on the basis of your level of competency in the following areas: Administration and ManagementPlanning and EvaluatingProgram Management Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-09).
