You will serve as a You will serve as an Aircraft Mechanic Leader in the MRO Production Department, Production Lines Division of FLEET READINESS CENTER SOUTHWEST.
Duties
You will analyze work orders or work requests for the manufacture or repair of aircraft electrical systems or equipment.
You will perform routine disassembly, repair, modification, assembly, test, installation, and maintenance of aircraft electrical systems.
You will plan the sequence of work to disassemble, repair, assemble, install, and test aircraft electrical cables, equipment, and accessories.
You will analyze circuits working from the system integration schematics and wiring or logic diagrams to facilitate repair of aircraft.
You will be required to have regular and predictable attendance, which is an essential function of this position.
You will be assigned collateral duties supporting and maintaining shop functions.

- You will be required to obtain and maintain required certification and/or license as a condition of employment.
- This position requires lifting and carrying objects up to 40 pounds. Any weight lifted in excess of 40 pounds will not be attempted unaided.
- You may be required to wear personal protective equipment such as helmets, gloves, coveralls, glasses, goggles, respirators and safety shoes continuously for the duration of the work shift.
- You may be required to work all shifts on a rotational basis including overtime.
- Incumbent may be required to obtain and maintain soldering certification.
- This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.

I have the ability to perform the most difficult and complex tasks an Aircraft Electrician including: 1) Perform theoretical, precise, and/or artistic work applies to skilled and semi-skilled occupations; 2) Knowledge of trade theory and up-to-date trade practices; 3) Fabricate tools/fixtures/gages with critical dimensions; 4) Apply arithmetic/trade math for computations: 5) Construct new, one-of-a-kind items; 6) Invent new methods, special/decorative effects and plan/layout/set up operations; 7) Set up/shift storage locations, select containers/protective devices/cushioning materials and pack items considering size/type/weight/fragility/how they are transported; 8) Know locations of stock and how they are marked/tagged/identified; 9) Rotate items according to shelf life/age/date: 10) Knowledge of handling/processing/storing techniques, machines/equipment used; 11) Match names/numbers/other ID to orders or receipts, fill out forms/record information. I am considered an expert and work with a high degree of independence.
B. I have the ability to perform the full range of tasks of an Aircraft Electrician including: 1) The ability to perform theoretical, precise, and/or artistic work applies to skilled and semi-skilled occupations; 2) Knowledge of trade theory and up-to-date trade practices; 3) Ability to fabricate tools/fixtures/gages with critical dimensions; 4) Use of arithmetic/trade math for computations: 5) Ability to construct new, one-of-a-kind items; 6) Invent new methods, special/decorative effects and plan/layout/set up operations; 7) Set up/shift storage locations, select containers/protective devices/cushioning materials and pack items considering size/type/weight/fragility/how they are transported; 8) Know locations of stock and how they are marked/tagged/identified; 9) Rotate items according to shelf life/age/date: 10) Knowledge of handling/processing/storing techniques, machines/equipment used: 11) Match names/numbers/other ID to orders or receipts, fill out forms/record information. I work on my own initiative under general supervision subject to occasional inspection.
B. I have the ability to perform common tasks of an Aircraft Electrician including: 1) The ability to perform theoretical, precise, and/or artistic work applies to skilled and semi-skilled occupations; 2) Knowledge of trade theory and up-to-date trade practices; 3) Ability to fabricate tools/fixtures/gages with critical dimensions; 4) Use of arithmetic/trade math for computations: 5) Ability to construct new, one-of-a-kind items; 6) Invent new methods, special/decorative effects and plan/layout/set up operations; 7) Ability to set up/shift storage locations, select containers/protective devices/cushioning materials and pack items considering size/type/weight/fragility/how they are transported; 8) Know locations of stock and how they are marked/tagged/identified; 9) Ability to rotate items according to shelf life/age/date: 10) Knowledge of handling/processing/storing techniques, machines/equipment used: 11) Match names/numbers/other ID to orders or receipts, fill out forms/record information. I work under close supervision of a work leader or journey-level employee who observes tasks in progress and upon completion to make sure they are properly performed.
