The primary purpose of this position INVENTORY MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST NH-2010-02 is to serve as a planner responsible for cradle to grave supply chain management and support to worldwide customers for an assigned complex/critical group of contract, inter-service, organic and dual repaired items and sub-components.
Duties
Performs work associated with the management of items, and preparation of data for accurate panning of budgetary estimates.
Plans, organizes, and oversees the activities of the organization, ensuring that logistics management related operations comply with legal and regulatory requirements and meet customer needs.
Participates in special logistics related operation projects and initiatives and perfoms special assignments.
Represents the organization with a variety of installation and functional area organizations.
Meets with key customers and coordinating officals to assess customer satisfaction, explain organization policy and procedures, and resloves significant problems that arise.

- PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - The work is primarily sedentary. May require some walking, standing, bending, carrying and/or lifting of light items such as paper or books. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.
- WORK ENVIRONMENT - The work is performed in a typical office setting, requiring the use of normal safety precautions necessary for an office environment. The work area is adequately lighted, heated and ventilated.
- May be required to travel by military or commercial aircraft in the performance of temporary duty assignments.
Qualifications
Experience requirements are described in the Office of Personnel Management (OPM) Qualification Standards for General Schedule Positions for Administrative and Management Positions. Due to the use of 120-day rosters, this period of experience may be completed within 120 days of the closing date of this announcement.
SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE:
Applicants must have at least 3 years of progressively responsible general experience, one year which is equivalent to Federal experience at the next lower grade (GS-04), level, pay band NH-01), or equivalent (pay schedule, pay band, etc). General experience is described as: assist with evaluating current organizational strategies and performance by applying the organizations mission and function; understand and aid in the deployment of lean concepts in problem resolution; interpret and apply regulations, methods, operating procedures, and policies, as well as assist in developing methods and operating procedures as required.

EDUCATION: Applicants must have successfully completed 4-year course of study leading to a bachelor's degree. NOTE: You must submit a copy of your transcripts.

COMBINATION OF EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION: Applicants must have equivalent combinations of successfully completed post-high school and experience directly related to the work of the position as outlined above that meets the requirements of the position. KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES (KSAs): Your qualifications will be evaluated on the basis of your level of knowledge, skills, abilities and/or competencies in the following areas:
Knowledge and skill in applying analytical and evaluative techniques for the identification, consideration, and resolution of issues or problems concerning efficiency and effectiveness of the program and/or strategic sourcing.
Knowledge of overall missions, functions, and organization of the agency or component. Ability to apply the knowledge to evaluate current organizational strategies and performance.
Knowledge of organizational concepts, principles, and practices as related to the requirements for performance-based logistics, acquisition., supply maintenance, procurement procedures, manufacturing, strategic sourcing, and other support areas.
Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing, clearly, concisely, and with accuracy, and maintain good working relations with all individuals and organizations.
Ability to work with, lead, and manage various groups or individuals to resolve difficult problems/situations as related to organizational issues. Ability to understand and deploy lean concepts in problem resolution.
PART-TIME OR UNPAID EXPERIENCE: Credit will be given for appropriate unpaid and or part-time work. You must clearly identify the duties and responsibilities in each position held and the total number of hours per week.

You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.
