The position is located in the Department of Veteran Affairs (VA), Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Mid-Atlantic Health Care Network (VISN 6). The incumbent will serve as a Program Support Assistant to the Lead Care Coordinator and the staff of the Home Telehealth (HT) Program.
This recruitment is internal to VISN6 only. This means to be within the area of consideration, you must be employed at one of the following VAMCs:

Duties
Duties include:
Establishes protocols for incoming data, organizes and maintains patient data and retrieves a variety of computerized data.
Tracks and trends issues related to program effectiveness and role implementation.
Attain and maintain computer skills on a variety of software programs, e.g., word processing, file management, VISTA program, EXCEL spreadsheets, etc. and communication tools such as MS Outlook.
Will operate web-based software for telehealth program as well as Access database for VISN office.
Must attain basic competencies in operation of the telehealth equipment to assist in troubleshooting problems for patients, answering questions for patients/staff/customers, and supporting the telehealth team.
Establishing and maintain inventory of all telehealth equipment including purchased and leased equipment, all repairs and costs.
Maintain calendar of appointments of patients, meetings, conference calls, and scheduled leave as well as coordinates meetings, and assists the Nurse Manager/FTC and Telehealth staff with all administrative functions.
Utilizes statistical data to compile a monthly workload report(s) for all program staff.

Qualifications
To qualify for this position, applicants must meet all requirements by the closing date of this announcement, 10/18/2024.
Time-In-Grade Requirement: Applicants who are current Federal employees and have held a GS grade any time in the past 52 weeks must also meet time-in-grade requirements by the closing date of this announcement. For a GS-07 position you must have served 52 weeks at the GS-06. The grade may have been in any occupation, but must have been held in the Federal service. An SF-50 that shows your time-in-grade eligibility must be submitted with your application materials.

You may qualify based on your experience as described below:
Specialized Experience: You must have one year of specialized experience equivalent to at least the next lower grade GS-06 in the normal line of progression for the occupation in the organization. Examples of specialized experience would typically include, but are not limited to: knowledge of research principles and practices; assisting with the day-to-day activities; creating agendas and writing committee minutes; collecting and compiling data; preparing correspondence and reports; utilizing automated software (such as Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.); and maintaining records. Physical Requirements: The work is primarily sedentary with occasional light physical effort such as walking, stair climbing, and carrying of light items.
