You will serve as a PROGRAM MANAGER in the Program Management Group of NAVAIRWARCENAC DIV.

Duties

You will be responsible for the overall management, direction and control of the acquisition, development, integration, testing, production, fielding, and life cycle support of major platforms and systems for the PEOs and their teams. You will plan and execute projects across the full system life cycle; satisfy customer requirements; manage cost, schedule, and performance requirements for acquisition of end-items; and manage development of aircraft and weapon system capability. You will provide Aviation/Ship Integration program management expertise for all elements of aviation acquisition strategies and planning, as well as ship and aviation modernization efforts. You will develop and coordinate all required program acquisition documentation and briefings; and ensure all program requirements and milestones are communicated and coordinated with program leadership. You will serve as the central point of contact within the program office for all matters concerning the program; and establish and maintain relationships both within the organization and with relevant external groups. You will evaluate work performance of team members and provide inputs to Group Leaders and supervisors on performance of IPT members to identify developmental and training needs of team members.

• This position may require travel from normal duty station to CONUS and OCONUS and may include remote or isolated sites. You must be able to travel on military and commercial aircraft for extended periods of time.
• You will be required to obtain and maintain an interim and/or final security clearance prior to entrance on duty. Failure to obtain and maintain the required level of clearance may result in the withdrawal of a job offer or removal.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the (GS-12/13) grade level or pay band (DA-05) in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: 1) Utilizing a wide range of technical and business systems, processes, and practices used to manage weapon systems acquisition; 2) Reviewing, analyzing, and implementing higher level procurement policies; 3) Managing project/program requirements, objectives and metrics, and resolving conflicts among schedules, funding, and resources; 4) Identifying opportunities to incorporate process improvements and best practices utilizing customer feedback, internal and external audits, self-assessment, and lessons learned activities; 5) Advising management and colleagues on difficult problems, conducting special studies, proposing options and alternatives, and representing a command.
