This position is located in the District of Columbia Superior Court, Washington, DC. The selectee of this position serves as a Administrative Support Assistant (OA). You will be responsible for performing a variety of administrative and clerical support duties (e.g., file management, database management, updating and maintaining prisoner production calendars etc.).

Duties

As a Administrative Support Assistant (OA) at the GS-0303-7 level, some of your typical work assignments may include: Receiving, reviewing, coordinating, maintaining, monitoring, and recording a variety of criminal case actions. Utilizing office automation equipment and various software packages (commercial and propriety to include Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint etc.) to accomplish work. Composing non-technical correspondence based on brief verbal instructions or written notes. Communicating with a variety of internal and external stakeholders concerning prisoner movement. Qualifications

GS-7 TIME IN GRADE REQUIREMENTS: Merit promotion applicants must meet applicable time-in-grade requirements to be considered eligible. One year at the GS-6 grade level is required to meet the time-in-grade requirements for the GS-7 grade level. (Must submit your SF-50 that shows Time-in-Grade eligibility and reflects your title, series, and grade. No award SF-50 will be accepted). You may qualify at the GS-0303-7 level, if you fulfill the following qualifications: A. Specialized Experience: At least one year (12 months) of full-time specialized experience at or equivalent to the GS-06 in the Federal Service performing duties which includes: 1) Establishing and maintaining files in accordance with established procedures and retention regulations; 2) Preparing recurring reports; 3) Responding to questions from inside and outside an agency concerning civil and criminal actions; 4) Modifying data within existing spreadsheets; 5) Collecting and reporting data from databases and spreadsheets; and 6) Editing the formatting, alignment, and graphs of documents created in word-processing software. AND Proficiency Required:This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5 minute sample with three or fewer errors. Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment. You will receive credit for all qualifying experience, including volunteer experience.

Education

Applicants may not qualify for this position based on education in lieu of specialized experience at the GS-07 grade level.
