You will serve as an Advisor within the Space Operations Mission Directorate, Strategic Integration & Management Division. You will identify key issues and develop information and analyses for use by the Associate Administrator in decision-making and perform program evaluation of agency strategic goals and objectives to achieve NASA's strategic plan and missions. As a senior analyst, you are expected to collaborate with individuals across internal/external organizational representatives.
Duties
Supports senior level management by identifying needed data and delivering results that address customer needs while exercising diplomacy, tact, and resilience.
Presents findings of analytical products to senior leaders and non-technical audiences, clearly and concisely.
Translates complex concepts, findings, and limitations into concise, plain language through varied types of written communication to include emails, presentations, white papers, and full reports.
Collects, validates, analyzes, and reports statistical data involving performance and resource requirements for large, complex, and diverse projects, investments, and agency policies in order to improve NASA's programmatic performance policies.
Leads agency-wide teams to analyze management problems and provide advice and insight about the probable effects of alternative solutions to these problems. Evaluates/ interprets study findings as the basis for further investigation.
Uses operations research skills to perform studies involving analysis of financial, human capital, and operational processes.
Leads strategic assessments to evaluate options and timing for future spaceflight missions as well as other investments under differing budget assumptions.
Constructs mathematical models using advanced operations research, cost/benefit analysis, economic theory, and risk assessment techniques to evaluate the need for changes in practices and processes.
Evaluates requirements, analyze alternatives, and recommend solutions using mathematical techniques, analytical models, and/or statistical methods.
Recognizes deficiencies and recommend improvements for data, systems, processes, or operations. Provide data to improve mission or business operations using techniques to resolve systemic problems.

Qualifications
Specialized experience is experience that has equipped you with the particular ability, skill, and knowledge to successfully perform the duties of this position and is typically in or related to this line of work.
GS-15: To qualify at the GS-15 level, you must have one year of directly related specialized experience equivalent to the GS-14 level:
Leading and carrying out analytical projects to provide strategic advice and expert consultation to senior officials or key personnel in directorates or major organizations;
Researching, analyzing, and documenting business strategies or resources management issues, and coordinating with management to develop, recommend, and implement innovative solutions;
Developing and applying new concepts to solve complex problems in areas such as financial, human capital, and operational processes.

Education
Basic Education Requirement:
You must have successfully completed a full 4-year course of study in an accredited college or university leading to a bachelor's or higher degree that included a major in operations research; or at least 24 semester hours in a combination of operations research, mathematics, probability, statistics, mathematical logic, science, or subject-matter courses requiring substantial competence in college-level mathematics or statistics. At least 3 of the 24 semester hours must have been in calculus.
Courses acceptable for qualifying for operations research positions may have been taken in departments other than Operations Research, e.g., Engineering (usually Industrial Engineering), Science, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Management Science.
U.S. degrees must have been awarded from colleges or universities that are accredited by recognized accrediting organizations. For a list of schools that meet this criteria, go to
