About the Position: The incumbent will serve as a Maritime Engagement and Integration Spec at the Strategy, Policy, and Plans Directorate-Security Cooperation Division in Miami, FL.
Duties
Responsible for providing support on Security Cooperation issues during the various phases of the work being accomplished by in-house organizations, contractors, and other federal agencies.
Serve as a coordinator for the Engagement and Integration team and is the Theater Security Cooperation (TSC) expert for prioritization.
Lead the integration of naval activities and engagements in support of USSOUTHCOM Partnership of the Americas (POA) operations throughout the USSOUTHCOM Area of Operations.
Coordinate with the Security Cooperation Offices to ensure support of the U.S. Southern Command’s strategic goals, planning guidance, and Theater Campaign Plan.
Develop relationships with partner countries, foster stability in the region, and building partner nation capabilities.
Provide course of action recommendations regarding Engagement Integration Division’s support to Building Partnership (BP) initiatives of other Major Army Commands (MACOMS), or other agencies within the Federal Government.
Ensure compliance with policy for pursuing Theater Security Cooperation in support of USSOUTHCOM functional directorates.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Position requires a Security Clearance at the TOP SECRET/Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) as the individual will be required to access, process, use, and safeguard classified National Defense information.
- This position is covered by the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention and Control Program.
- Required to sign a DA Form 5019 (Condition of Employment for Certain Positions Identified as Critical Under the DA Drug-Free Federal Workplace Program) and must pass urinalysis testing, as required prior to appointment and periodically thereafter.
- Position requires travel up to 15% of the time.

Promote organizational capabilities to support theater security cooperation and assistance pertaining to deployments; and 3). Conduct analysis of system development plans to ensure mission readiness throughout the organization.
This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-11 or above).
