This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave.
Duties
The primary purpose of this position is to analyze and evaluate trends in procedures, service, training, etc., and provide recommended policy change needed to achieve objectives of the AF Lodging Program. Assists in the development of criteria to evaluate Air Force (AF) Inns to ensure that standards are being met. Identifies and recommends needed process/policy changes based upon evaluation of current program. Performs field visits to evaluate base-level lodging operation's performance and customer service; provides staff assistance to improve local performance of the lodging operation. Conducts evaluations within accordance or AF Lodging Standards Checklist and provides feedback during base visits and evaluations to maximize customer service and operation efficiency. Conducts training (classroom and on-the-job training) for personnel assigned to all departments of the lodging function to meet current standards (e.g. customer service, efficiency). Performs follow-up with substandard performers to establish a get-well plan and works with those bases until performance and standards are met. Provides training for new lodging managers to develop a strategic plan to successfully manage their properties. Incorporates total property assessments into base visits/virtual reviews and provides feedback to resource management, construction, technology, and operations branches. Provides briefings to Air Staff, other DoD activities and base level personnel. Assists in management of the annual Air Force Innkeeper Awards program and Lodging Managers Conference. Assists in managing the Air Force Inn Training program on-site courses, courses conducted off-site, and web-based. Develops lodging course curriculum, facilitates class management, and instructs classes. Monitors base usage of web based training. Develops training budget. Manages and provides troubleshooting for the Educational Institute Courseline and WebFire training systems. Reviews and provides functional inputs to the Career Field Education and Training Plan (CFETP), Standard Training Aides (STAs) Home Station Training, and Force Support Combat training. This position may require TDY travel, sometimes on short notice, traveling by military or commercial aircraft or by any other designated means. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifying Experience: Knowledge in Air Force Lodging experience (Lodging Manager, Assistant Lodging Manager, or Lodging Training Manager). Experience with hotel property management systems. Solid understanding of AF Lodging Fund authorizations, capital requirements, facility, technology, standards, and training requirements and be able to teach base level managers in a coaching supportive role. Ability to analyze and evaluate trends in procedures, service, training, etc., and provide recommended policy change needed to achieve objectives of the AF Lodging Program. Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have experience in the use of personal computers and lodging automated systems. Must be certified by the Educational Institute, American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) as a Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA), a Certified Rooms Division Executive (CRDE), or a Certified Hospitality Trainer (CHT). MAJCOM/FOA/HAF experience is highly desirable.
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does not allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
