About the position: This position will be assigned to the Air Force Services Center, Kelly AFB, TX.
This is a Regular Full Time (RFT) position with benefits (medical, dental, life insurance, retirement, 401(k), and annual/sick leave.
Duties
Responsible for the Air Force Lodging training program on-site curriculum development, instructors, course scheduling/filling:
developing standardized training criteria and materials for all AF Lodging personnel at base-level and developing standardized web- based training modules and training videos. Work with lodging staff, most particularly the accreditation evaluators and Division Chief to develop criteria to evaluate Air Force Inns to ensure standardizations are met. Identifies and recommends practical processes and policy changes based upon evaluation of current program. Advises on APF & NAF budget submissions. Conducts training (classroom and on-the-job training) for personnel assigned to all departments of the lodging function to meet current standards for customer service and efficiency. Analyzes and evaluates trends in procedures, service, training, etc. and provides recommended policy changes needed to achieve objectives of the AF Lodging Program. Develops quarterly lodging updates for the field, or when new information is ready to solicit to the field. Manages the semi-annual Lodging VTCs. Provides briefings to Air Staff, other DoD activities and base level personnel. Manages the annual Air Force Innkeeper program from the evaluation of the competing bases to the awards luncheon. Coordinates and implements the annual AF Lodging Managers Worldwide Conference. Oversees and implements standardization of Air Force Inns in such areas as training, uniforms, daily operations, room amenities and furnishings, customer feedback mechanisms and facilities. Provides assistance to the Division Chief on all functional standardization issues and works with other lodging staff to ensure a comprehensive presentation of standards to base-level personnel. Supervises a subordinate staff. Advises and provides counsel regarding policies, procedures, and directives of management. Develops, modifies, and/or interprets performance standards. Explains performance expectations to employees and provides regular feedback on strengths/weaknesses. Holds employees responsible for satisfactory completion of work assignments. Recommends awards when appropriate. Hears and resolves employee complaints and refers unresolved complaints to higher-level management. Initiates action to correct performance or conduct problems. Initiates minor disciplinary measures such as letters of reprimands or counseling.

Qualifying Experience:
Requires a broad experience of lodging operations and/or experience as an AF Inns trainer at the installation level. Completion of a bachelor's degree in a related area or a combination of professional experience that provides equivalent experience is required. Experience in nonappropriated fund financial administration of lodging operations is highly desirable. Must have the proven experience to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing. Must have experience in the use of personal computers and lodging automated systems. Must be able to develop briefings, training aids, lesson plans, talking papers and other presentations for classroom instruction, conference briefings and other required briefings or presentations.
Must be certified by the Educational Institute, American Hotel and Lodging Association (AH&LA) as a Certified Rooms Division Executive (CRDE) and/or certified Hotel Administrator (CHA).
Education
Some federal jobs allow you to substitute your education for the required experience in order to qualify. This position does allow for education substitution.
FOREIGN EDUCATION: Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the requirements. You must show proof the education credentials have been deemed to be at least equivalent to that gained in conventional U.S. education program. It is your responsibility to provide such evidence when applying.
