About the Position: The purpose of this position is to provide administrative, operational and technical functions in support of the Army Medical Command, located in Veterinary Services Directorate, Aberdeen Proving Ground- South, Maryland, 21005.
Duties
Review correspondence for completeness and adequacy of information or data.
Arrange conferences and meetings as well as records the minutes of the meetings.
Answer routine and non-technical requests for information such as status of reports, etc.
Disseminate general information such as publication and other important materials among staff members to inform them of upcoming events and changes.
Provide support with the Defense Travel System (DTS) by preparing travel orders, arranging transportation, hotel reservations, and fielding queries.
Ensure accuracy of correspondence prepared for management's signature to include format, grammar, and spelling.
Provide Army Time Attendance and Production System (ATAAPS) support to include monitoring leave usage, compensatory time, and timecard accuracy.
Requirements
- Appointment may be subject to a suitability or fitness determination, as determined by a completed background investigation.
- Incumbent must be a qualified typist.
- You may be expected to travel 10% of the time for this position.

Specialized Experience: One year of specialized experience which includes 1) Utilizing a time and attendance system to validate employees tour of duty; and 2) Providing a wide variety of interrelated and/or non-standard administrative and support services. This definition of specialized experience is typical of work performed at the next lower grade/level position in the federal service (GS-06).
OR
Education: One full year of graduate level education in a field which demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to do the work of the position, such as Office Automation.
OR
Combination of Education and Experience: A combination of education and experience may be used to qualify for this position as long as the computed percentage of the requirements is at least 100%. To compute the percentage of the requirements, divide your total months of experience by 12. Then divide the total number of completed graduate semester hours (or equivalent) by 18. Add the two percentages.
Proficiency Required: This position requires a qualified typist. A qualified typist can type 40 words per minute based on a 5-minute sample with three or fewer errors

Time in Grade Requirement: Applicants who have held a General Schedule (GS) position within the last 52 weeks must have 52 weeks of Federal service at the next lower grade or equivalent (GS-06).
